This role offers a unique opportunity to apply advanced model-based systems engineering (MBSE) techniques in support of defense-related projects, contributing directly to the development of cutting-edge production process simulation models. You will work in a collaborative environment, guiding the creation and governance of system models while supporting Digital Engineering initiatives and integrated product teams. This position combines technical leadership, programmatic oversight, and hands-on MBSE work, providing exposure to both traditional systems engineering and agile development practices. The role requires the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable system designs, collaborate with government and contractor teams, and participate in technical reviews that influence critical program outcomes. With partial travel and remote flexibility, you will have a direct impact on shaping next-generation defense technology solutions.
Accountabilities:- Lead the adoption and consistent application of MBSE methodologies and tools across the system development lifecycle.
- Create, manage, and govern system models in collaboration with internal teams and government stakeholders.
- Conduct model-based and traditional Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) events.
- Support Digital Engineering initiatives to enhance system design, analysis, and integration.
- Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and working groups to review and mature artifacts such as CONOPs, system architecture, behavior models, functional allocations, interface control documents, and data models.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to ensure MBSE best practices are applied effectively.
- Contribute to Agile development processes, ensuring engineering artifacts align with program goals and timelines.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of MBSE and Systems Engineering experience across the full SE lifecycle.
- In-depth knowledge of systems engineering principles, MBSE methodologies, and SETR/OOSEM best practices.
- Proficiency with MBSE tools such as MagicDraw, Cameo, or Enterprise Architect.
- Current OMG-Certified SysML Professional (OCSMP) credentials for Model User and Model Builder Fundamental.
- Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, Java, or C++.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and Digital Engineering capabilities.
- Professional written and oral communication skills.
- Active Secret security clearance required.
- Desired: Experience with DoD Modular Open System Approach (MOSA), large-scale DoD programs, or manufacturing production process studies.
