Sr. Billing Specialist
The Senior Billing Specialist is responsible for managing and executing complex billing operations within a technology-driven environment, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant invoicing for products and services such as software, subscriptions, usage-based billing, professional services, and support agreements. This role partners with cross‑functional teams to maintain compliance, support reporting requirements, and improve billing processes Additionally, resolves and escalated customer and internal billing issues, supports audits and revenue recognition requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Handle complex billing scenarios and contract terms
- Resolve escalated billing issues and discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with billing policies and accounting standards
- Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Customer Success, and IT
- Support month‑end close, reconciliations, and audits
- Identify and implement billing process improvements
- Maintain billing systems and customer records
- Assist with system enhancements and special projects
- Generate accurate and timely invoices for technology products and services
Education/Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years’ related experience in Billing
- Experience using MAS ERP program preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Knowledge of accounting functions and terminology
- Highly organized with keen attention to detail and a sense of urgency
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and accounting software, such as Dynamics, MAS, or ConnectWise
- Excellent data entry skills while maintaining speed and high accuracy
- Good time management and prioritization skills
- Demonstrated ability to be proactive and take the initiative to get things done
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at once
- Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment and under pressure.
- Flexible and adaptable to change.
