Facilities Maintenance (Homeless Shelter) - PT weekends and evenings at York Union Rescue Mission Inc – York, Pennsylvania

Essential Duties:

• Repair minor plumbing, electrical, water, security, HVAC, or structural issues
• Detect and report the need for major maintenance repairs
• Fulfill daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual preventative maintenance schedules
• Assists Supervisors in Conducting fire and safety drills
• Occasionally work with and lead volunteers on projects around facilities
• Assist with and fulfill special projects as needed
• Seasonal ground maintenance as needed
• Oversight of outside vendors when working in the building
• Maintain positive relations with vendors
• Respect confidentiality of Guests served by LifePath Christian Ministries
• Pick up needed materials from local vendors
• Promptly respond to requests for emergency repairs and clean-ups
• Ensure cleanliness and safety of all facilities and grounds

Qualifications and Education:

• Excels in a fast-paced work environment with competing priorities
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office 365 environment
• Ability to safely operate ladders, hand, and power tools
• Apply critical thinking to resolve issues utilizing on-hand resources, or to be able to identify the needed materials to resolve identified issues
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required

• Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of time, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb stairs, push, and pull items weighing 100 pounds or less; manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
• Possess a valid driver’s license in accordance with our insurance provider’s requirements.
• Possess or have the ability to obtain a DOT physical card.
