JOB SUMMARY:
The International Specialist supports the US distribution center staff and International Network Team managing the day-to-day operations and assuring high quality standards for our international mail and parcel flow. He/ She works closely with our internal and external partners to ensure seamless operations, quick issue resolution and excellent customer experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Network operations

  • Monitor packages along the delivery chain (Distribution Center handling, transportation, customs clearance and delivery) and ensure a seamless operation
    Identify and troubleshoot systemic issues and support identification of root cause in conjunction with International Network Team
  • Support the International Network Team with project-based tasks such as new Service Providers implementations, test shipments preparation, auditing, routing changes and such.
  • Maintain regular communication with the International Network Team and Transportation Export Team
  • Support daily communication with external vendors (e.g., airlines, customs brokers and delivery partners) to resolve network issues (e.g., lack of booking capacity, shipment delays)
  • Partners with DC through spot checks and hourly DC training support to ensure data quality on in-house operating systems (e.g., Ensure transport details are updated in the system and flags set correctly)
  • Build ad hoc reports to support resolution of systemic issues (e.g., list of returned items from vendors)
  • Support Customer Service and Sales to drive optimal customer experience and to help ensure operational compliance (e.g., bringing forward any out-of-specification activity)
  • Document Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) for DC operations and training material for Customer Service and other documentation
  • Additional tasks as assigned

Terminal operations

  • Coordinate between departments to facilitate clear communication, ensure proper alignment and help maintain high operating standards in the Distribution Center
  • Assure shipping preparation is compliant and in line with company standards, vendors specifications and requirements
  • Support terminal staff to develop and propose solutions to timely resolve any issues causing disruptions to production or impacting the customer experience
  • Identify improvement opportunities for cross-border processes
  • Based on business requirements (peak season etc.) support the Distribution Center operations with day-to-day tasks
  • Additional tasks as assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s degree or equivalent years of relevant experience in an International Business, Business Analytics or distribution center operations environment

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment along with prioritizing multiple functions and tasks
  • Ability to work cross functionally at different levels
  • Strong analytical and trouble shooting skills
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills including the ability to adapt to various audiences
  • Self-motivated and able to work under limited supervision
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure with poise and professionalism
  • Excellent organizational abilities, self-starter (pro-active) with excellent time management
  • Proficient in MS Office suite, with strong emphasis on Excel
  • Flexible adjusting schedule as needed during peak seasons.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Physical demands are consistent with a warehouse environment where frequently this position will be exposed to cold, hot and changing temperatures; will constantly experience noise at medium level not damaging or loud enough to require protective equipment; will frequently be exposed to dust, dirt and changes in lighting
  • Physical demands are also consistent to an office setting
  • Frequently walk throughout the distribution center to monitor process
  • From time to time, it may be required to perform light work at the DC so light lifting may be required <50 pounds.

Pay Range: $65,205 to $75,555
