Summary Objective
As a sales staff, the Inside Sales/Business Development Intern supports the sales organization by identifying new business opportunities, engaging potential customers, and strengthening data accuracy within sales systems. This role blends research, customer outreach, analysis, and collaboration, providing hands-on exposure to how high-performing sales teams generate
pipeline and close deals. The intern will gain experience with modern sales tools, professional communication, and cross- functional teamwork. The primary duty of the Inside Sales/Business Development Intern is to discover practical applications to assist in their education, continue the learning environment through utilization of skills learned and to finish a capstone project that can be utilized by Stellar Energy for process improvements.
Essential Functions
- Prospecting & Lead Research: Identify target companies and contacts using online research and look for buying signals.
- Outbound Outreach Support: Assist with cold emails, calls, and LinkedIn messaging to generate new opportunities.
- CRM Data Management: Keep records accurate by updating contacts, logging activities, and tracking deal progress.
- Sales Enablement Support: Help create or update customer-facing materials such as slide decks and win stories.
- Shadowing & Learning: Attend strategy meetings and customer calls to observe how sales reps conduct discovery, tailor pitches, and overcome objections.
- Inform Sales leaders of emerging trends, developments, technologies, materials, and best practices.
- Accomplish tasks within the company procedures, specifications, standards, and any project specific addenda.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Location
This position will work out of our Jacksonville, FL sites. This position is not approved for telecommuting or working remotely.
Work Environment
Most work is performed in an office environment. Regular trips to the manufacturing campus for observation and support may be necessary, which may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and head protection.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.
Travel
Some occasional local day travel between campuses in Jacksonville may be necessary.
Required Education and Experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of completed course work in business development, marketing, sales or a related field.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Web research tools
- Communication and outreach tools
- Exposure to AI‑assisted tools for data analysis and content creation
