This full-time, year-round position is based out of our new, state-of-the-art shop in Spicer, MN and comes with a strong benefits package including:

This position with the Duininck Construction team offers the opportunity to perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on a wide range of heavy-duty trucks and trailers, helping keep our fleet safe, reliable, and ready to support successful project delivery.

The Role:

  • Diagnose and repair issues related to engines, brakes, hydraulics, transmissions, steering systems, drive trains, and electronic components on semis, tandems, tri-dumps, and multiple trailer types.
  • Utilize diagnostic software such as Cummins Insite or CAT SIS to troubleshoot problems and support safe, efficient repairs.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance projects in the shop and the field as needed.
  • Assist with field repairs and travel to job sites to complete diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and mechanical work.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including time, materials used, inspections, and parts replaced.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while following all company safety standards and procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with other technicians and shop team members to complete work efficiently and effectively.

Work Environment:

  • Work in a shop setting and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch, and sit for extended periods.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Regularly work extended or overtime hours depending on project needs.
  • Travel throughout Central & Western Minnesota, Northern Iowa, and the Eastern Dakotas.

What we Look For:

  • Two-year technical degree or 3+ years of related experience (preferred).
  • Experience performing diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, heavy-duty trucks, trailers, hydraulic systems, and electrical components.
  • Knowledge of construction equipment maintenance, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and diesel engines.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic platforms such as Cummins Insite and CAT SIS.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and documentation practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams) and willingness to learn applicable business systems.
  • Class A CDL is preferred.
