About This Position
About Bells of Steel Inc.
At Bells of Steel, we’re on a mission to make fitness and strength training approachable, affordable, and fun! We design and manufacture high-quality strength and exercise equipment for home gym enthusiasts and fitness pros alike. Whether you're a seasoned gym rat or just getting into the swing of things, we've got the gear to help you crush your goals.
We’re not your typical, stuffy fitness equipment brand—we’re down-to-earth, a little cheeky, and always looking for ways to make working out a little less serious and a lot more rewarding. If you like the sound of being part of a fast-paced, no-BS team that’s shaking up the fitness industry, then you might just be the perfect fit.
So, what is this job?
If you’ve ever opened a box of home gym gear, lost a single bolt under the couch, and felt your soul leave your body — you already understand why this role matters. The Parts Specialist is the person who swoops in, finds that bolt (or a replacement, or the whole mystery part), and gets our customer from “almost done” to “game on.”
This is an entry-level role that is full-time and in-person. No decade of experience required — just bring curiosity, a soft spot for frustrated lifters, and the kind of attitude that makes a team actually fun to work on. We’ll teach you the rest.
What you’ll actually doCustomer Support (the main event)
- Make someone’s day. A customer emails in stuck halfway through a rig assembly — you write back warm, clear, and actually helpful, and suddenly their weekend is saved. That feeling? That’s the job.
- Pick up the phone when a fix is faster live. Some people just need to hear a human say “yep, we’ve got you.”
- Troubleshoot like a detective with a heart. Sometimes the answer is a replacement part. Sometimes it’s a 2-minute walkthrough where you realize the bracket’s just flipped. Figuring out which is half the fun.
- Use your mechanical intuition to visualize equipment over the phone and coach customers through it — like tech support, but for squat racks.
- Tag-team with the customer service crew next door. They'll come to you with the advanced product questions that don't have a documented answer yet — and you'll help them build the knowledge to handle more of them on their own next time."
Picking, Packing & Processing Parts Orders
- Pull, pack, and ship parts from the shelves. Simple, satisfying, hugely important.
- Handle the data entry for every parts order — create orders in Brightpearl (BP) and ClickUp, keep records tidy, and print shipping labels. A typo here is a wrong part in a customer’s hands, and that’s not who we are.
- Disassemble equipment when a part isn’t on the shelf. (Yes, you get to take things apart. Yes, it’s as fun as it sounds.)
- Keep the parts area organized so Future You (and the whole team) can find things fast.
Prototype & Photo Team Assists
- Build prototype samples so the Product team can refine them before they ever hit a customer’s garage — you’re the first person in the world to put these things together.
- Speak up with feedback as you go. If an instruction is confusing or a part is a pain to install, we want to hear it. Your hands-on take directly shapes what ships, and nobody’s ego gets in the way of a better product.
- Help the photo team with assembly and teardown for photoshoots, and occasionally hop in front of the camera for customer-facing assembly videos. (No YouTuber required — just willing and clear.)
No specific degree or certifications required. You’ll thrive here if you:
- Actually love helping people. Not in a corporate-mission-statement way — in a “you got a kick out of fixing your friend’s treadmill last weekend” way.
- Can write like a human. Warm, clear, a little bit of personality. A good support reply is part detective work, part reassurance.
- Are comfortable with computer-based data entry — creating parts orders in Brightpearl and ClickUp and printing labels is a real chunk of this role. The kind of person who gets a little buzz from a clean, accurate record is our kind of person.
- Are mechanically inclined and hands-on. If you’ve ever assembled furniture or a bike and actually enjoyed it, come on in.
- Are organized and detail-oriented. Shipping the wrong M10 bolt is a crime against lifters.
- Can lift and move equipment as part of a normal workday.
- Love being part of a team. “We Win Together” is our core value — no lone wolves, no ego, just people who have each other’s backs and make the hard days lighter.
- Experience in customer support, retail, warehousing, or fulfillment.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems (Zendesk, Gorgias, etc.) or order management tools (Brightpearl, ClickUp, NetSuite, etc.).
- A personal love for strength training or assembling fitness equipment — instant empathy for our customers.
- Comfort with tools (sockets, Allen keys, wrenches, the occasional rubber mallet).
We exist to make strength training accessible to real people in real spaces — garages, basements, spare bedrooms, and commercial gyms alike. And we have a ridiculously good time doing it.
