This role is centered on building and maintaining the foundational services and SDKs that power a cross-platform user experience. You will work at the intersection of product and infrastructure, designing reliable APIs, efficient systems, and cloud services that directly enhance end-user interactions. The position offers opportunities to optimize performance, improve algorithms, and deliver fast, seamless functionality across multiple platforms. You will collaborate closely with product teams to scope features, balance trade-offs, and iterate quickly based on user feedback. Accountabilities:- Design, develop, and maintain core SDKs and backend services that underpin cross-platform product experiences.
- Collaborate with product teams to scope projects, optimize integrations, and make trade-offs to accelerate feedback loops.
- Improve system performance, parsing algorithms, and abstractions to enable faster and more intelligent functionality.
- Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and asynchronous jobs using Kotlin.
- Ensure APIs and systems are reliable, maintainable, and scalable, supporting high-quality user experiences.
- Mentor and collaborate with engineers, contributing to a culture of technical excellence and thoughtful problem-solving.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a software engineer delivering high-quality systems and services, with strong focus on core infrastructure and SDKs.
- Proficiency in Kotlin Multiplatform; Java experience is acceptable but Kotlin expertise is required.
- Experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred) and backend development, including building scalable and maintainable services.
- Strong systems thinking and ability to design end-to-end solutions with simplicity and performance in mind.
- Ability to work quickly, make decisions on trade-offs, and manage multiple priorities in a remote, high-growth environment.
- Excellent collaboration skills, including working with cross-functional teams of designers, PMs, and engineers.
- Focused, self-driven, and able to balance independent work with team engagement.
