- Educate and train coding staff to enhance their skills.
- Oversee and perform coding quality audits.
- Monitor and report on employee developmental activities.
- Act as a coding expert resource to various departments.
- Develop and maintain coding-related policies and procedures.
- Facilitate coding audits performed by outside agencies.
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders regarding coding issues.
- Design audit tools to monitor coding accuracy.
- Graduate in Health Information Technology or equivalent.
- Minimum of five years coding experience in relevant fields.
- Certification in coding (RHIA, RHIT, COC, CCS, CPC).
- Extensive experience with ICD-10-CM, CPT, and MS-DRG assignments.
- Knowledge of healthcare compliance and revenue cycle operations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
