Principal Product Designer - REMOTE

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Principal Product Designer. In this role, you will have a significant impact on shaping the future of the insurance industry by creating user-centric digital products. You will work within a remote-first team, focusing on the entire design process from research to high-fidelity designs. Your contributions will directly influence customer experiences and business outcomes, as you engage with cross-functional teams to drive impactful design solutions that are both intuitive and efficient.Accountabilities
  • Owning the end-to-end design process: from exploratory research to wireframes, prototypes, usability testing, and polished high-fidelity designs.
  • Driving deep customer and product understanding through short-form research (customer interviews/surveys, edge case mapping, journey reviews, competitor benchmarking).
  • Collaborating closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define problems, align on outcomes, and craft thoughtful and intuitive solutions.
  • Supporting large product initiatives such as major product launches and optimizations of existing customer journey flows.
  • Using the existing design system to ship consistent, scalable UI while contributing to its ongoing evolution.
  • Participating in team rituals such as weekly design reviews, retros, product unite meetings, and daily cross-functional standups.
  • Communicating design decisions clearly and effectively to stakeholders.
  • Balancing speed and quality by iterating quickly and refining based on feedback.
  • Bringing a perspective of continuous improvement in processes, tooling, or team collaboration.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience designing intuitive, user-centric digital products.
  • Strong foundation in visual design, interaction design, and information architecture.
  • Experience working through the full product design lifecycle from research to execution.
  • Proven ability to conduct or collaborate on user research and synthesize insights.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and complexity in regulated domains.
  • Collaborative experience with cross-functional teams including product managers and engineers.
  • Iterative mindset with strong prototyping skills.
  • Familiarity with design systems and experience in contributing to them.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A healthy balance of humility, curiosity, and confidence.
