Infusion Oncology Registered Nurse

Position Overview:
The Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing infusion treatments to patients within a clinic setting. This role includes ensuring patient safety, collaborating with the healthcare team, and maintaining accurate patient records. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and a collaborative approach to treatment. Compensation is commensurate upon education, experience, certification, and internal equity. Hiring compensation range starts from $34.00/hour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer infusion treatments according to established protocols.
  • Assess and monitor patients during infusion therapy.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records.
  • Promote a positive and health-conscious work environment.
  • Educate patients and families about infusion therapy and self-care techniques.
  • Schedule patients for infusion treatments as needed.

Position Requirements:

Minimum Education:

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Previous experience in infusion therapy is highly desirable.

Required Registration/License/Certification:

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association required at the time of hire.
  • Additional infusion therapy certifications are a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in administering infusion therapy.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
  • Lift and carry equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Manual dexterity for administering treatments.

Working Conditions:

  • The position involves direct patient contact and exposure to bodily fluids.
  • The work environment includes exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials.
  • Adherence to infection control protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
