About This Position
POSITION SUMMARY
Gathers, analyzes, maintains, and reports clinical and hospital medical review data relating to NDN and the hospital’s potential referrals, organ/tissue/eye donors and missed potential referrals. Reports data ensuring integrity and accuracy. and analyzes data to identify trends.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential Functions Statement(s):
- In conjunction with Donation Development, is responsible for the completion of NDN’s Death Record Reviews (DRR). The Data Compliance Coordinator is specifically responsible for:
- Monthly requesting death lists from referral partners for comparison to referrals recorded in NDN’s electronic medical record.
- Reviews recorded referral calls and collaborates with internal partners to reconcile discrepancies between these reports and to compile associated compliance reports.
- Initiates occurrences for all instances of missed referrals, to include failure of hospital staff to report a cardiac time of death on a previous vented referral.
- Collaborates with Donation Development to ensure accuracy of data reports provided to referral partners.
- Responsible for completion of NDN’s Death Notification Record (DNR) filed with UNOS.
- Ensures timely and accurate completion of DNRs. DNRs must be submitted 30 days after the end of the month in which the donor hospital reported the death to the NDN or in which NDN identified the missed referral through the death record review process.
- DNRs must be submitted for all imminent neurological deaths and all eligible deaths in NDN’s donation service area.
- Responsible for the completion of NDN’s Monthly Donation Data Report/Reported Deaths filed with UNOS.
- Ensures timely and accurate completion of the Monthly Donation Data Report/Reported Deaths. Must be submitted 30 days after the end of the month in which a donor hospital reported the death to NDN.
- Conducts analysis of the DRR review:
- Analyze clinical data using appropriate statistical tools.
- Prepare and provide NDN management with comprehensive quality reports.
- Track and trend data in effort to identify opportunities for improvement (OFI)
- Responsible for preparing NDN biohazardous waste for pickup and disposal:
- Performs an audit of internal and external documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy for tracking the final disposition of disposed waste.
- Files documentation of destruction.
- Facilitates the storage and retrieval requests for offsite document storage in accordance with established process and procedure.
- Keeps current with the standards and regulations that relate to quality, organ, tissue and ocular services including CMS, FDA, UNOS, AATB, and EBAA.
- Initiates and participates PDSAs and other quality improvement projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Employees must adhere to and remain in full compliance with Nevada Donor Network’s Motor Vehicle Driving Policy as outlined in the Motor Vehicle Records and Driver Safety policy PC.334.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Associate’s degree or two years of related experience required.
Experience: Two years of related experience in regulated or certified industry. Experience with electronic medical records is preferred.
Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft office suite, required. Experience with electronic medical records, preferred.
