Medical Assistant (Per Diem) at PhyicianOne Urgent Care – Waterbury, Connecticut

Yale New Haven Health Urgent Care is seeking Per Diem Medical Assistants to support our clinical teams across Connecticut. This flexible role helps cover shifts related to employee leaves, call-outs, and fluctuating patient volume.

• Assist providers with exams, procedures, and treatments

• Perform clinical tasks including vital signs, EKGs, PCR testing, specimen collection, and wound care

• Support daily clinic operations and ensure a positive patient experience

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred

• Prior urgent care or clinical experience strongly preferred

• Experience with EHR/EMR systems

• CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)

• Strong communication, flexibility, and teamwork skills

• Availability to accept shifts as needed, including short-notice coverage

• Competitive per diem pay based on experience

• Flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends

Compensation Range

• $20-26 hourly (based on experience)
