About This Position
Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Program Director of Inpatient Therapy Services, the Counselor Associate conducts clinical assessments, makes appropriate referrals, and provides care while maintaining patient safety and confidentiality. Completes associated administrative/clerical tasks, and maintains orderly work area. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Responsible for daily tracking of biopsychosocial assessments, admits and discharges; therefore, coordinating referral source identification and referral source communication regarding patient’s care/follow up is essential. These functions include working in the EMR, databases, and other Office computer functions including scanning and securely emailing documents. Additionally, the Counselor Associate may follow up by phone and email with external referral sources/customers when directed to do so. Attends treatment team staffing to provide feedback, assist with treatment plan development, and functions as a cooperative member of the interdisciplinary treatment team. Excellent communication and follow up skills are required for this position. The Counselor Associate is also responsible for all other duties as assigned, which may include, but are not limited to, data gathering and data input, coordination of assigned tasks/projects, and facilitation of the court commitment process as ordered by a physician.

Qualifications:
Education/Skills
Bachelor degree in psychology, social work, or related field required. Must possess computer skills, as well as effective telephone and interpersonal communication skills.
Work Experience:
Work experience in a mental health setting preferred.
Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE
- Valid Driver's License and good Standing Driving Record
