About This Position
The Assistant Archery Instructor supports archery classes for youth and/or adult beginner participants by assisting the Lead Instructor with instruction, supervision, and range setup. This role helps create a safe, fun, and encouraging environment where participants can learn basic archery skills and build confidence.
Assistant Instructors may help lead small groups, provide individual support, as needed.
Program Details:
- Classes are offered seasonally throughout the year for youth and adult beginner participants.
- Schedules are flexible and can be coordinated based on availability.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Lead Instructor during archery classes
- Help teach basic archery skills, including stance, aim, and shooting technique
- Support and reinforce range safety procedures
- Provide one-on-one support to participants as needed
- Help manage equipment setup and cleanup
- Encourage participation and create a positive learning environment
- Lead small groups of youth or beginner adults, as needed.
Minimum Age: Must be 15 years of age or older
Certification Requirement: Must obtain or hold a Level 1 USA Archery Instructor Certification
(Fargo Park District will support selected candidates in obtaining certification if needed)
Background Check: Applicants must be able to pass a background check in accordance with Fargo Park District policies
Physical Requirements: Ability to actively assist with archery instruction and range setup. This position may require:
- Standing for extended periods during classes
- Assisting with demonstrations and participant support
- Setting up and carrying equipment (up to approximately 25-30 pounds)
- Working indoors and/or outdoors in varying conditions
