Position Overview:

The Boys & Girls Club of Clifton is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Preschool Before & After Care Coordinator to support the daily operations of the before and after care program. This role is responsible for program coordination, scheduling, compliance support, staff oversight, and communication with families to ensure a safe, structured, and smoothly operating system.

The coordinator will work closely with Site Supervisors, teaching staff, administration, and the Director of Early Childhood Education to maintain program quality and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

1 .Program Coordination & Operations

  • Coordinate daily operations of the before and after care program
  • Maintain program schedules and staffing coverage
  • Assist with enrollment, attendance tracking, and record keeping
  • Ensure smooth transitions between preschool and extended care services
  • Support implementation of program activities and routines

2. Staff Support & Oversight

  • Provide operational support to Site Supervisors and program staff
  • Assist with staff scheduling and coverage needs
  • Support onboarding and training coordination
  • Reinforce adherence to program policies and procedures
  • Communication operational updates to staff as needed

3. Compliance & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate attendance and program records
  • Ensure required documentation is completed and organized
  • Support NJDCF compliance requirements
  • Monitor certifications, clearances, and training requirements
  • Assist with incident documentation when necessary

4. Family & Administrative Communication

  • Serve as a point of contact for routine parent inquiries
  • Communicate program updates, scheduling changes, and reminders
  • Support registration and program-related paperwork
  • Maintain professional and positive relationships with families

5. Safety & Environment

  • Environment port staff in maintaining a safe and structured environment
  • Reinforce safety protocols and procedures
  • Report safety concerns to administration promptly

6. General Duties

  • Participate in staff meetings and required trainings
  • Support program needs as assigned
  • Perform other related duties to ensure program success

Physical Demands:

Standing, walking, occasional running/jogging, leaning, bending, and sitting. Must be able to lift 30 lbs.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience in Early Childhood or Childcare settings
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • Experience supervising or training staff
  • Strong understanding of Early Childhood Development and positive behavior guidance
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to maintain boundaries and confidentiality
  • Ability to pass all required background checks and health clearances
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred

  • Experience with diverse children and families, including special needs
  • Familiarity with Creative Curriculum or similar play-based curricula
  • Bilingual or multilingual

Schedule

Part-time, primarily Monday-Friday, with occasional evenings or weekends for events and meetings

Compensation: $20–$25 per hour, commensurate with experience.
