Sam Moore Furniture, a division of Hooker Furnishings Corporation, is seeking a skilled Facilities Technician (Finishes & Repairs) to join our team at our Bedford, VA manufacturing facility.
Hooker Furnishings Corporation, now in its 101st year of business, is a designer, marketer and importer of case goods (wood and metal furniture), leather seating and fabric-upholstered furniture for residential, hospitality and contract markets.

The Position
We are looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented technician with experience in painting, flooring installation, and general building repairs in a manufacturing or commercial environment. This role is responsible for maintaining the overall appearance and functionality of the facility through interior finishing work, minor repairs, and facility improvement projects.
The Facilities Technician (Finishes & Repairs) will play an important role in ensuring our facility remains clean, safe, and well-maintained to support daily operations and reflect the quality of our products.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform interior and exterior painting, including surface preparation, patching, and finishing to ensure a high-quality appearance.
  • Install, repair, and replace flooring materials such as tile, vinyl, laminate, and carpet.
  • Complete general building repairs including drywall repair, trim work, and minor carpentry projects.
  • Assist with facility remodeling, renovation, and improvement projects as needed.
  • Prepare surfaces and work areas for projects, ensuring proper materials and tools are available.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace during and after project completion.
  • Inspect facility areas to identify repair needs, damage, or safety concerns and report findings.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to complete projects efficiently while minimizing disruption to operations.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and company policies while performing maintenance tasks.
Ideal Candidate

Candidates who will thrive in this role typically have:
  • Previous experience in painting, flooring installation, or general building maintenance
  • Experience with drywall repair, finishing work, or basic carpentry
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools and power tools
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform manual labor throughout the shift
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus
