Food Service Driver at Fresno Rescue Mission Inc – Fresno, California

The Fresno Mission works to rescue, restore and empower those dealing with life insecurities through Christ centered communities. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, reliable part-time food service associate to assist in our global food service needs that provide meals for all people utilizing our services. Job Description:

In addition to the practical knowledge required for the position of regular route driving, the successful candidate will possess empathy and patience for those in need and those disciples we work alongside of, obtain superior customer service skills and a commitment to creating a welcoming experience in a rapidly changing environment. We are looking for a highly organized and motivated individual to join our team.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:

• Knowledge of Food Safety: Understanding of proper food handling, storage, and transportation to ensure meals are delivered safely and in compliance with food safety regulations.
• Proficient in Outlook Calendar: Capable of managing and navigating delivery schedules efficiently across Fresno and nearby areas.
• Strong Time Management & Initiative: Able to prioritize tasks and make quick decisions in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.
• Exceptional Customer Service: Demonstrated ability to engage with clients, staff, disciples, and individuals in need with kindness, professionalism, and respect.
• Logistical & Organizational Expertise: Knowledge of optimizing routes and schedules, with a sharp eye for organization, logistics, and ensuring safety.

While your primary responsibility will be driving as part of our food service team, you may also be asked to assist with the following duties:

• Transport program participants from campus to campus for vocational work experience inside our kitchens.
• Cater events both on-site and off-site.
• Assist in warehouse operations, including sorting, rotating, and supporting other daily tasks as needed.

• A servant's heart to serve the least, the last and the lost
• Class C Driver’s License / Clean driving record
• High School diploma required or equivalent experience
• Food Handler’s certificate/permit
• Forklift Certified/ or willing to learn
• Food preparation experience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced/ high-capacity environment
• Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule such as overtime and weekend work may be required, as well as
• special events and holidays.
• Must be able to carry, lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds regularly and bend and stoop
• Possess a testimony of faith and experience in Jesus and maintain a Christian walk.
• Must be in agreement with the Statement of Faith of the Fresno Mission.
