About This Position
The Airport Shuttle Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and professional transportation for guests traveling to and from regional public and private airports. This role serves as both the first and last impression of the resort experience and requires exceptional hospitality, discretion, and operational awareness. Drivers are expected to deliver timely pickups and drop-offs while strictly adhering to all traffic laws and safety standards. Airport Shuttle Drivers may operate various vehicle types including SUVs, resort shuttle vans, and pickup trucks. In addition to airport transportation, this role also supports resort shuttle operations as needed. This position demands flexibility, professionalism, and a strong commitment to guest service excellence.
Guest Transportation and Experience
- Provide timely and efficient transportation to and from designated airports and regional destinations
- Monitor flight schedules and adjust pickup timing as needed
- Assist guests with loading and unloading luggage and golf equipment
- Maintain a polished, welcoming presence as a representative of the resort
- Engage guests in knowledgeable and courteous conversation while respecting guest privacy
Safety and Compliance
- Operate all vehicles in strict compliance with traffic laws and company safety standards
- Exercise heightened awareness during highway and long-distance travel
- Conduct thorough pre trip and post trip vehicle inspections
- Report mechanical concerns, damage, or safety issues immediately
Communication and Coordination
- Maintain consistent communication with the dispatcher and Guest Services leadership
- Remain available for last minute or schedule adjustments when operationally necessary
- Accurately document trip details as required
Operational Support
- Assist with standard resort shuttle operations if needed
- Support luggage handling and guest service needs across departments when requested
Professional Standards
- Adhere to uniform and grooming guidelines
- Maintain a clean, organized vehicle interior and exterior
- Uphold discretion and confidentiality in all guest interactions
- Always represent the resort with professionalism, including early mornings and late-night assignments
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Ability to provide meaningful, composed guest interaction while maintaining focus on safe driving
- Ability to perform in a fast paced and high expectation hospitality environment
- Strong multitasking, time management, and situational awareness skills
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Knowledge of traffic laws and safe driving practices
- Previous experience operating SUVs, shuttle vans, or similar vehicles preferred
- Availability to work flexible shifts including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Basic math skills for accurate documentation and reporting
Must be able to:
- Read and write in English
- Communicate verbally with staff members with or without the use of two-way radios
- Give and follow verbal and written instructions
- Visually inspect vehicle surroundings and work areas
- Operate vehicles for extended periods including long-distance travel
- Lift up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly
