Master Electrician, Per Diem

  • POSITION STANDARDS

      • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is

      • Associates Degree in Applied Science or equivalent education or certi?cation or work 10 years’ experience

      • Advanced Knowledge of medium to high voltage systems

      • Advanced Knowledge of building systems and operations, as well a general trade experience

      • Master Electrician's License (Electrician Master NH (EL1002))

      • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required

  • PART TWO: FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY
    • Position Objective
      • Under general supervision, institute and maintain a comprehensive preventive maintenance program on all electrical equipment and electrical electronic systems, such as, emergency generators, motor control centers, pumps, compressor power, controls, A/C, air handling equipment, refrigeration systems, ?re alarm, extinguishing systems, operating electrical systems, automatic doors, building light, power, intercom, and uninterrupted power systems. Assist in the evaluation of problems and repair/resolve issues in resident rooms, and automatic transfer system switches.

    • Performance Expectation

        1. Performs maintenance and repairs on all electronic and electric equipment within the complex. Performs safety inspections and tests, record all speci?c data. Makes any needed improvements and recommends actions.

        2. Reads blue prints, technical manuals, and electrical & electronic schematic drawings to install and repair electrical and electronic equipment at the component level.

        3. Modi?es, evaluates, and tests new and existing electronic equipement. Implements such equipment into existing systems to increase the e?ciency and safety for patients, visitors and employees.

        4. Communicates with employees, visitors, and patients regarding their concerns about electrical and electronic equipment de?ciencies. Determines and implements solutions for providing continued service.

        5. Evaluates condition of equipment and systems, recommending repair, modi?cation, or replacement, as necessary in accordance with departmental procedures.

        6. Assists electrical engineers with analyses, research, determination of loads, system capacity, distribution design, feasibility/performance evaluations studies and prepares designs for future program installation and construction. These tasks are performed via ?eld research, preparing written documentation and providing equipment speci?cations, using advanced electrical ?eld trade knowledge.

        7. Supervises on-site work of outside contractors to ensure tasks are completed in accordance with project plans, within time-frames and in compliance with all electrical local, national codes and health-care standards.

        8. Reviews and applies engineering plans, speci?cations and architectural blueprints to insure speci?cations, local and national codes and safety standards are complied with and overall implementation procedures are consistent with the interest of the health care.

        9. Communicates with the administrative sta?, outside contractors, vendors and consultants to plan, coordinate and accomplish, regularly as needed.

        10. Responds on an Electrical on-call basis to o? hours emergencies and makes independent decisions regarding the resolution of these emergencies.

        11. Operates digital and analog test equipment, such as electrical VOM, Amp meters, HyPot testers, Mega Digital low resistance Ohmmeter, and temperature infrared scanners and safety analyzers.

        12. Works with computers and microprocessors.

        13. Determines faults or problems and implements solutions.

        14. Recommends the purchase of new equipment and/or parts and supplies to be on hand in the storeroom necessary to complete work orders, preventive maintenance, retro?ts and projects.

        15. Evaluates reported problems, determines and implements e?ective solutions.

        16. Keeps up-to-date on changes in electrical codes and electrical installation, maintenance and repairs with substation and capacitator banks.

        17. Performs other duties as required or assigned.
