Verification Specialist at University Health System- San Antonio – San Antonio, Texas

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Organizes and completes the verification process for all credential files for initial appointments and reappointments. Assists the Coordinator, as needed, with other credentialing related activities.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Associate Degree in a health care related or business management field or equivalent experience is required. Two years work experience in medical staff services or four years of comparable experience with transferable skills sets is required. Two additional years of progressively responsible administrative experience is preferred. Knowledge of JCAHO, NCQA, federal, state and regulatory agency requirements with reference to verification of physician/allied health professional credentials is preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services (CPCS) is preferred.
