About This Position
The Department of Cell Biology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine seeks candidates for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Research Assistant Professor (non tenure stream) with the capacity to utilize S. cerevisiae as a model organism to develop a mechanistic understanding of how proteostasis factors recognize substrates in a complex environment and resolve proteotoxic stress. The Candidate is then expected to leverage the resulting mechanistic insights to develop therapeutic interventions in cancer and/or neurodegenerative disease. The Candidate will have a strong track record of accomplishment from Ph.D. work in biochemistry or cell biology, plus an additional 3-5 years of post-doctoral experience in membrane proteostasis.
Successful candidates will join an interactive, interdisciplinary group of faculty, students, and fellows, and enjoy access to the state-of-the-art equipment and facilities at the University of Pittsburgh. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. or an equivalent degree in the field of Cell Biology.
