Responsibilities

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) provides vision and leadership for campus-wide technology efforts including formatting, evaluating, and implementing technology policies, procedures and initiatives to improve the quality and effectiveness of the academic and business operations of Children's Friend and Service. Specific areas of responsibility include: Information Technology and Management Information Systems. The Chief Information Officer serves as a member of the President's Leadership Board.

  • Provide leadership in instructional technology and technology infrastructure for CFS.
  • Participate as a member of the Leadership Board for overall planning and direction of CFS’ functions and services, advising the President on technology resources, priorities, and program opportunities.
  • Coordinate the development, refinement, and execution of CFS’ strategic plan concerning instructional technology.
  • Collaborate with CFS administration and school site staff to make informed decisions and implement IT services and programs.
  • Lead initiatives supporting technology adoption and implementation across all CFS functions and operations, including teaching and learning enhancements promoting 21st-century skills.
  • Create and support cross-functional teams for needs assessment, decision making, technology support, professional development, and other aspects of the CFS technology department.
  • Manage and direct staff to support technology applications that help meet the goals of the strategic plan.
  • Supervise and/or coordinate the skill development of all employees in technology operation, building awareness of available resources and the role of technology in instruction.
  • Develop and coordinate a range of technology-based resources, maximizing their availability and use.
  • Prepare annual department budget, analyze and review budgetary data, identify long-term IT needs, develop implementation plans, and monitor and authorize expenditures according to CFS guidelines.


Qualifications
  • Preferably holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Education, Educational Administration, or a closely related field.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 4-6 years A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in management within an educational technology-related field is required.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, as well as speaking and presentation skills, are essential.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
