Bay Area Rehabilitation Center is a leading provider of early childhood intervention services, outpatient therapy, vocational training, social skills development, and recreational programs for individuals with disabilities or injuries. Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) Program. In this role, you will partner with infants, toddlers, and their families to deliver family-centered, coaching-based interventions in natural environments such as homes, daycare settings, and community locations.

You will assess developmental needs and provide individualized, functional interventions that promote independence, sensory integration, and participation in daily routines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Family-Centered Coaching
  • Empower families as primary decision-makers and teachers in their child’s development
  • Utilize the five-step coaching cycle: joint planning, observation, action/practice, reflection, and feedback
  • Integrate therapeutic strategies into daily routines such as meals, playtime, and bedtime
  • Interdisciplinary Team Collaboration
  • Collaborate with OT, PT, SLP, EIS, social workers, and other team members
  • Participate in evaluations, IFSP development, co-visits, and team consultations
  • Ensure coordinated, holistic service delivery
  • Natural Environment Service Delivery
  • Provide services in homes, childcare centers, and community settings
  • Tailor interventions to each family’s unique environment and routines
  • Support carryover of strategies across caregivers and settings
  • Assessment, IFSP Development & Documentation
  • Conduct evaluations using state-approved tools to determine eligibility and priorities
  • Develop participation-based IFSP outcomes and service plans in compliance with Texas ECI standards
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with program guidelines
  • Care Coordination & Equity
  • Connect families with medical, social, and community resources
  • Deliver culturally responsive, equitable, and trauma-informed care
  • Professional Development
  • Complete Texas EIS credentialing (if applicable) within one year
  • Participate in ongoing training, reflective supervision, and quality improvement initiatives

Requirements:

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
  • Current Texas OT license in good standing
  • Minimum of one year of pediatric experience
  • Experience with family-centered, coaching-based intervention in natural environments
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Proficiency in timely and accurate electronic documentation
  • Valid Texas driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications:

- 1-3 years in Texas ECI or related early intervention work.

- Training in routines-based intervention or reflective coaching models.

- Bilingual (e.g., English/Spanish).

- Familiarity with Texas IFSP procedures, co-visits and trauma-informed best practices.
