This role is responsible for guiding financial planning, analysis, and reporting, including budgeting, forecasting, and headcount planning. The CFO identifies trends in medical costs, drives improvement initiatives, and supports contract negotiations through financial impact analysis. - Lead and oversee all finance-related activities for the business unit, including budgeting, forecasting, and headcount planning
- Perform financial analysis to identify key month-end drivers and trends in medical costs, leading cost improvement initiatives
- Conduct financial impact analysis for new contracts and support negotiations with internal and external stakeholders
- Review monthly performance and provide actionable recommendations to senior management
- Act as the primary liaison between corporate finance and the business unit, ensuring alignment and strategic guidance
- Establish financial policies, procedures, and objectives to support the overall strategic plan
- Oversee pricing models, identify operational inefficiencies, and implement process improvements
- Direct analytical and reporting strategy for the health plan, supporting audits and regulatory requirements
- Lead rate-setting activities and coordinate with corporate and state actuaries
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration required; Masters degree preferred
- CPA certification preferred
- 10+ years of senior-level finance experience in healthcare or insurance industry
- Expertise in financial planning, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements for health plans
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence organizational strategy
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and executive engagement skills
- For specific health plans: residency in designated states may be required
- Competitive base salary ($202,900 $384,400 per year) with potential additional incentives
