About This Position
About the Role
Elderhaus in Wilmington, NC is seeking a dedicated Director, Adult Day Center Program to lead the day-to-day operations of our PACE Adult Day Center. This role oversees service delivery, staff supervision, care coordination, and regulatory compliance in accordance with North Carolina guidelines and regulations. The ideal candidate is mission-driven, experienced in leadership and administration, and passionate about serving frail, elderly, and disabled adults.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Leadership & Administration: Plan, organize, and evaluate Adult Day Care/Health program activities to ensure alignment with established policies and quality standards.
- Care Oversight: Lead care planning and implementation, facilitate family meetings, and manage follow-up actions.
- Staff Supervision: Direct and support the Health Care Coordinator, administrative, and transportation teams; plan and coordinate staff training.
- Compliance & Certification: Maintain compliance with state and federal requirements; oversee certification with NC DHHS and DHSR.
- Service Decisions: Ensure participant service decisions are appropriate, person-centered, and well-documented.
- External Relations: Represent the program in the community and across the state; foster positive public relations and partnerships.
- Other Duties: Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- At Least 18 years of Age
- Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, reliable transportation
- Minimum two years in supervision and administration.
- Minimum one year working with frail, elderly, or disabled adults.
Education
- Minimum of two years of formal post-secondary education.
- Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field preferred, OR High school diploma/equivalent plus a minimum of five years’ combined experience and training serving elderly or adults with disabilities.
