Job Overview

The main responsibilities of the Assistant IT Manager is to ensure day to day activity and critical systems, specifically Property Management System, Food & Beverage point of sale computer systems, Guest Internet and hotel Network are available twenty-four (24) hour per day.

Responsibilities

  • You will provide effective support for other systems, including back office, sales & catering and human resources applications. In conjunction with these tasks, act as the hotel’s liaison with both hardware and software suppliers to ensure that the terms of maintenance agreements are followed by all concerned.
  • You must establish and maintain user procedures and hardware familiarization for all systems.
  • In conjunction with Hotel Director of Information Technology and Corporate Information Technology, coordinate any new system implementation, update or upgrade with hotel staff and hardware or software suppliers.
  • Assist individual departments in setting up computer training for their individual departmental needs.
  • Assist Hotel Systems Manager in ensuring system security procedures are carried out and are consistent with control requirements and corporate policy.
  • Maintain accurate records of system files; software and hardware problems and service requirements.
  • Develop and maintain, in cooperation with the Purchasing Department, a supplier and product list for all stock data processing supplies.
  • Establish and maintain backup procedures for all systems to ensure protection from loss of data and ensure backups are carried out in accordance with corporate and local policies.
  • Assist Hotel Systems Manager with maintaining hotel electronic communications, specifically electronic mail and internet access and ensuring they comply with corporate policy and are available to hotel management as required.
  • The ideal candidate will conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of Taj Hotels.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Hotel Director of Information Technology.
  • Requirements

  • Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years experience in a hotel environment.
  • College degree required.
  • Knowledge of Networking, Hardware, Database, Microsoft Operating Systems, Infogenesis POS, Opera PMS, Great Plains and High Speed Internet client support is required.
  • Specialty degree in IT systems preferred.
  • Candidate must have a flexible schedule.
  • Position requires strong communication skills for direct interaction with guests/employees and requires the ability to support and train in fast paced, hands on, luxury environment.
  • Multilingual skills preferred.
    • Certificates on relevant technologies and applications.
    • Experience on emerging technologies including management tools, networking stack, AI tools.
    • Projects handling in terms of managing tasks, communication, liaison with stake holders, mitigation of deviations and timelines.
