About IHR: The Institute for Health and Recovery (IHR) is a statewide service, research, policy, program development and capacity building agency. IHR designs its services based on an understanding of the impact of trauma. IHR’s CARF accredited treatment programs provide holistic interventions for hard to reach and high-risk individuals and families. IHR’s mission, since our founding in 1990, has been to develop and support a comprehensive continuum of care for families, individuals, youth, and pregnant and parenting people affected by alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use, violence/trauma, mental health challenges and other health issues, while advancing principles of health equity and social justice. Our work is focused on addressing and eradicating inequities in our health care, economic, and justice systems, especially as they disproportionately affect women and people of color. Summary Statement: The Program Manager will support IHR’s mission to support the continuum of care for youth and young adults affected by drug use, alcohol, tobacco, violence/trauma, mental health challenges and other health issues. The Program Manager will support the youth and young adult training team providing supervision, support and guidance in the training and technical support work for the BSAS funded programs, and implementation of IHR and youth and young adult strategic plans. The Program Manager will collaborate with the youth and young adult training team to develop trainings, provide technical assistance, and be a resource for youth and young adult programs.
Essential Functions:- Guide IHR’s ongoing learning and engagement with the field to ensure that YYA training and technical assistance is continuously updated and informed by current and emerging research, trends, needs, and best practices related to working with young people impacted by substance use, mental health needs, and trauma.
- Manage YYA training and technical assistance contracts, ensuring that deliverables are completed, resources are allocated and utilized effectively, and goals are achieved.
- Lead team in developing and implementing new trainings, resources, and approaches to technical assistance.
- Supervise team members, supporting their professional growth and development.
- Manage workload assignments to ensure equitable and effective distribution of tasks.
- Cultivate new training and technical assistance opportunities statewide and nationally.
- Collaboratively work with Senior Director of Youth and Young Adult Programs & Services, DYS Director of Substance Use Services, and IHR’s Director of Training to support youth leaders and internal capacity building of IHR direct service staff on topics related to young people.
- Establish and maintain ongoing quality assurance process for YYA training and technical assistance.
- Create and deliver innovative, engaging trainings focused on YYA substance use.
- Work with IHR’s Director of Training to review training evaluations and participate in IHR’s Training Committee.
- Attend team and agency staff meetings.
- Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or similar field; substantial experience (over 5 years supervising in mental health field) may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- At least 5 years of previous experience in training development, educating, program development, and/or youth program oversight.
- At least 5 years of working directly with young people affected by substance use, mental health, and/or trauma.
- Previous experience providing supervision and leading a team.
- Previous experience providing case consultation to staff working with young people.
- Previous experience in curriculum development.
- Excellent communication skills, oral and written including writing and reporting skills
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Some statewide and national travel
