Description:

Position Summary

Provides supervision, safety, and enrichment for students enrolled in the school’s after-school or extended day program. The position also manages the front office welcome visitors, help students and staff in a welcoming school climate. When serving as Program Coordinator, this role includes program leadership, staff supervision, student classroom and field management, and administrative oversight.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Program and Student Supervision
  • Supervise and engage students in homework, enrichment, recreation, and character-building activities.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming environment at all times.
  • Monitor daily attendance, snack time, outdoor play, and dismissal procedures.
  • Address behavioral issues promptly, document incidents, and communicate concerns with parents or administrators.
  • Maintain cleanliness and ensure adherence to all safety and health guidelines.
  • Program Coordination (Coordinator-Level Duties)
  • Plan, organize, and oversee the daily schedule, curriculum, and activity plans.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise after-school staff and volunteers.
  • Manage attendance, tuition payments, payroll timesheets, and program records.
  • Purchase and maintain supplies and equipment; monitor budget and expenditures.
  • Ensure compliance with childcare, safety, and school regulations.
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student participation, policies, and payments.
  • Prepare and submit required reports and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Teamwork and Communication
  • Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Collaborate with school administration to ensure program alignment with school goals.
  • Attend staff meetings and required trainings.
  • Manage front office answer calls and welcome visitors
  • Help first aid and basic care for students coming for medical needs
  • Communicate school departments for vendors and supplies
  • Work on program finances
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Designee.

Reports To: Principal or Designee

Position Type: Salary 10-Month Position with School Calendar

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience working with or supervising children in a school or childcare setting.
  • Must pass Level 2 background screening as required by Florida law.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of child development, safety, and group management.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and maintain accurate records.
  • Skills in conflict resolution, problem-solving, and promoting positive behavior.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

  • Work performed in classrooms, cafeterias, and outdoor areas.
  • Requires standing, walking, bending, and participating in recreational activities.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.

Reporting Relationships

  • Reports to the Principal or Designee.
  • When assigned as Coordinator, supervises after-school staff and volunteers.
