Sensity has an exciting opportunity for a Service Support Specialist to join our team of front line support specialists in London, ON. Reporting to the Operations Manager, is a nonunion practice support role designed to strengthen program quality across Supported Living and Community programs. By providing hands on coaching, mentoring, and in program presence, the role ensures consistency, supports Intervenors, and enhances the quality of
life for individuals who are deafblind through person-centered, team-based practices

Core Purpose:
To enhance service delivery by offering skilled, collaborative practice support—without supervisory authority—while improving onboarding, communication, and program consistency across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Practice Coaching & Team Support
• Provide hands on modeling, coaching, and guidance to Intervenors in communication, routines, and environmental adaptations.
• Produce brief summary notes from program visits to support continuity of training and mentoring.
• Ensure Intervenors have the knowledge, tools, and supports required to meet individual needs.
2. Onboarding, Orientation & Skill Development
• Lead person -centered, program specific- onboarding including individualized orientation
checklists.
• Support training in communication methods, safety procedures, and required competencies.
• Collaborate with Learning & Development Specialists on specialized training needs and
consistent practices.
3. Program Quality & Protocol Alignment
• Collaborate with managers and teams to draft or update individual specific protocols and ensure implementation.
• Review weekly plans to ensure they meet the person’s goals and support needs.
• Coach staff on documentation quality while managers retain formal oversight.
4. Administrative & System Support
• Audit documentation for completion and accuracy while ensuring staff follow required processes.
• Maintain and update ShareVision/It’s My Life information related to person centered plans.
• Ensure staff receive key updates in clear, timely, and accessible ways.
5. Financial Process Support
• Educate Intervenors on program specific financial documentation requirements.
• Facilitate collection of information needed for managers and Finance when individuals receive support with personal funds.
6. Recruitment & Workforce Support
• Participate in candidate screening and recommend suitable hires.
• Deliver early stage onboarding support and coordinate peer mentoring within the program.
7. Family & External Partner Support
• Participate in case discussions; liaise with clinicians and external partners.
• Support Intervenors in understanding how to communicate with families in alignment with communication plans.
Education and Experience Required
• Community college diploma (or equivalent) in Intervenor for Deafblind Persons, First Aid / CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Three (3) years of experience within Intervenor Services.
• Working knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) or Signed Exact English (SEE) / various communication methods are definite assets.
• Understanding of the Employment Standards and Occupational Health and Safety Acts.
• Computer proficiency, with knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database software.
• Knowledge of assistive devices, i.e. walkers, lifts / transfers, Zoom Tech, canes, hearing aids is an asset.
• Time management, attention to detail and organizational skills. Adaptable and flexible with an ability to respond to changing work priorities, pressure and demands.
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Good oral and written communication skills, with a strong consumer focus. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Ability to communicate in both English and French is an asset.
Working Environment and Physical Demands
· The position is primarily performed in a changing work environment, which includes residential and public / community settings.
· Salaried position based on 40 hours / week, with flexibility to work evenings & weekends.
· Occasional requirement for multi-tasking, simultaneous multiple urgent demands and / or work requiring attention to detail, subject to frequent, regular interruptions, or peak periods requiring an accelerated work pace or deadlines.
· Sustained requirement for manual dexterity / coordination for computer use, and handling of cleaning equipment or consumer assistive devices; regular requirement for light physical exertion, such as sitting, standing, walking, operating office equipment and using basic cleaning tools (e.g.mop, broom, etc.); minimal requirement for heavy physical exertion, including the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (e.g. carrying laundry or operating cleaning equipment, such as a vacuum) or push consumers in a wheelchair.
· Regular requirement for low-intensity mental, visual or aural concentration for such activities as reading, inputting data, taking notes; occasional requirement for high intensity mental, visual or aural concentration such as analyzing large volumes of data, listening to calls / presentations or face-to-face interactions of a more complex nature; regular requirement for emotional strain due to
activities or situations involving highly sensitive or emotionally-fraught circumstances.
· Regular travel is required within a supported region, including occasional trips to Sensity main office in Paris, ON.

The pay range for this role is:
52,000.00 - 58,000.00 CAD per year
