About This Position
Wheeler Machinery Co. in Vernal, UT is hiring a Lube Service Field Maintenance Technician. This full-time position is responsible for providing efficient, clean, and on-time preventative maintenance services on CAT and non-CAT equipment in the field. Duties and Responsibilities
- Accurately follow detailed instructions and accomplish work with minimum supervision.
- Possess and develop the ability to work in high pressure situations while maintaining a professional attitude.
- Service customer machines, engines and generators and make recommendations for maintenance repairs in accordance with EPG standards.
- Assist field technicians with any/all repairs as required.
- Perform all phases of assembly and disassembly with minimal or no supervision.
- Possess the ability to install and operate all relevant testing and diagnostic equipment required for the work being performed.
- Document time and work performed daily in a precise, detailed manner.
- Complete all required paperwork daily.
- Manage parts orders, warranty information, service reports, and other documentation required to complete repairs.
- Complete all applicable Wheeler and Cat sponsored training.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong technical skills and proficiency in EPG equipment maintenance including good problem-solving skills.
- Well-developed organizational and self-motivational skills
- Good work ethic with safety, quality, and customer service being a priority.
- Completion of all required Caterpillar training in preparation for Field Service Technician designation.
- Minimum 2 years of power generation field maintenance experience.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of engine/generator theory and operation.
- Strong knowledge of and experience with electric power generation and components related to standby and prime power generator applications.
- Strong knowledge of CAT equipment with troubleshooting skills and experience using CAT ET, SIS, and other CAT web tools.
- This position requires long hours/days working out of town, including evenings, nights, and weekends with exposure to the elements (heat/cold).
- Must have a good safety record as safety will be the top priority with a commitment to follow Wheeler safety policies.
- Good proficiency in using Microsoft products (Outlook, Excel, Word, and Windows Operating System.)
- Must be willing to work overtime even on short notice as the need arises.
- Professional attitude and appearance.
- Commercial Driver License (CDL) with clean driving history required.
- Must own a complete set of tools.
- Current MSHA training
