This senior leadership role oversees end-to-end operational execution across large-scale industrial and energy infrastructure projects, ensuring performance, safety, quality, and financial success across multiple complex project portfolios. The position plays a critical role in driving operational excellence within a high-growth, nationwide construction and engineering environment. You will lead through a team of Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Superintendents, ensuring that all active projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with contractual and regulatory requirements. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on operational leadership, including budgeting, resource planning, stakeholder engagement, and risk management. With responsibility for multimillion-dollar project portfolios, you will also influence business development, client relationships, and commercial outcomes. It is a high-impact role requiring strong leadership in a fast-paced, safety-driven, and technically complex industry.
- Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple large-scale industrial and energy projects, ensuring alignment with budget, schedule, safety, and quality standards.
- Lead and direct Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Superintendents to optimize resource utilization and project execution performance.
- Manage operational planning, including staffing, procurement, budgeting, scheduling, and risk mitigation across project portfolios exceeding $500M.
- Take ownership of project financial performance, including cost analysis, forecasting, contract compliance, and profit optimization.
- Support preconstruction activities, including bid reviews, RFP analysis, proposal development, and go/no-go decision-making.
- Oversee execution phases, ensuring corrective actions are implemented when projects deviate from schedule, scope, or budget.
- Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships, representing the organization in meetings, negotiations, and industry events.
- Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities, contributing to proposals, and strengthening client partnerships.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards across all project sites.
- Lead, mentor, and develop internal teams while fostering a culture of accountability and performance excellence.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and extensive experience.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in construction, engineering, or industrial operations, including leadership of large, complex projects.
- Strong background in EPC, design-build, or general contracting environments, ideally within power generation, mining, or heavy industrial sectors.
- Proven experience managing P&L responsibility, contract execution, cost control, and financial performance of large project portfolios.
- Deep understanding of construction methods, project delivery models, scheduling, and change order management.
- Strong leadership and team development skills, with experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities, including client-facing leadership.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience supporting bids, proposals, and business development activities.
- Advanced organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in high-pressure environments.
- Proficiency with standard business and project management tools and systems.
- Competitive annual salary ranging from $200,000 to $225,000, based on experience.
