About the Role
Family Enrichment Centers (FECs) are welcoming, family- centered spaces that are co-designed with parents, caregivers, and community members. They focus on strengthening families, promoting child and family safety and well-being, and preventing factors associated with child abuse and neglect. FECs aim to achieve these outcomes through peer-to-peer, relationship-based, and community-driven support and decision-making.
The Director of the Family Enrichment Center is responsible for providing on-site leadership that ensures the FEC operates as a safe, welcoming, and community-driven space aligned with ACS FEC Model Standards. The Director leads daily operations, staff supervision, and continuous quality improvement while fostering an inclusive, reflective, and equity-centered team culture. They build strong partnerships with community members and institutions, manage program resources and budgets, and ensure contractual and reporting requirements are met.
What You’ll Do
- Ensure daily operations support a consistently staffed, safe, clean, organized, and welcoming FEC environment.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the FEC Model, Standards and promote adherence across all areas of implementation.
- Provide leadership, supervision, and coaching to staff, including reflective practice and alignment with model-required training (e.g., Appreciative Inquiry, Cafés, Protective Factors).
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture built on equity, shared leadership, and mutual accountability among staff, Advisory Council members, and FEC participants.
- Build and sustain partnerships with community members, civic leaders, public institutions, and community-based organizations to strengthen FEC visibility, resources, and reach.
- Oversee budget development and management in partnership with the Supervisor and Provider fiscal team.
- Lead hiring, onboarding, and professional development of staff.
- Maintain consistent communication and partnership with the ACS FEC Program Management team to review progress, discuss implementation challenges, and ensure all contractual and programmatic responsibilities are met.
- Lead internal continuous learning and quality improvement efforts, including timely completion of ACS-required reports (e.g., Offering Logs, narrative reports), use of data and community feedback to guide improvement, and collaborative goal setting with ACS, the Advisory Council, and community members.
- Promote an environment where community voice drives FEC activities and decision-making, ensuring Offerings and other FEC components reflect community strengths, needs, and aspirations.
Your Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications include 1 of the following:
- A Master’s Degree AND five (5) years of professional experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree AND seven (7) years of professional experience
- A High School Diploma AND at least eleven (11) years of professional experience
- Knowledge of, lived experience in, and commitment to the Brooklyn community
- Outstanding community organizing, collaboration, and advocacy skills.
- Knowledge of one or more of the FEC frameworks (Equity, Co-design, Appreciative Inquiry, Family Protective Factors) or other frameworks/approaches with similar components.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday with weekends as needed in our FEC site at 3251 Church Ave. in Brooklyn. Shift times vary (8-hour duration) within 9:00 am - 8:00 pm, with one remote day every week (see remote work policy).
Additional Requirements:
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Ability to work in-person in New York City (NY) for at least 4 days or more per week.
- Ability to travel to other Rising Ground sites (if required)
- Must have ability to work weekends as needed
- Ability to travel within the community for outreach and partnering (extended length of time)
