About This Position

About the Role

Family Enrichment Centers (FECs) are welcoming, family- centered spaces that are co-designed with parents, caregivers, and community members. They focus on strengthening families, promoting child and family safety and well-being, and preventing factors associated with child abuse and neglect. FECs aim to achieve these outcomes through peer-to-peer, relationship-based, and community-driven support and decision-making.

The Director of the Family Enrichment Center is responsible for providing on-site leadership that ensures the FEC operates as a safe, welcoming, and community-driven space aligned with ACS FEC Model Standards. The Director leads daily operations, staff supervision, and continuous quality improvement while fostering an inclusive, reflective, and equity-centered team culture. They build strong partnerships with community members and institutions, manage program resources and budgets, and ensure contractual and reporting requirements are met.

What You’ll Do

  • Ensure daily operations support a consistently staffed, safe, clean, organized, and welcoming FEC environment.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the FEC Model, Standards and promote adherence across all areas of implementation.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and coaching to staff, including reflective practice and alignment with model-required training (e.g., Appreciative Inquiry, Cafés, Protective Factors).
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture built on equity, shared leadership, and mutual accountability among staff, Advisory Council members, and FEC participants.
  • Build and sustain partnerships with community members, civic leaders, public institutions, and community-based organizations to strengthen FEC visibility, resources, and reach.
  • Oversee budget development and management in partnership with the Supervisor and Provider fiscal team.
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, and professional development of staff.
  • Maintain consistent communication and partnership with the ACS FEC Program Management team to review progress, discuss implementation challenges, and ensure all contractual and programmatic responsibilities are met.
  • Lead internal continuous learning and quality improvement efforts, including timely completion of ACS-required reports (e.g., Offering Logs, narrative reports), use of data and community feedback to guide improvement, and collaborative goal setting with ACS, the Advisory Council, and community members.
  • Promote an environment where community voice drives FEC activities and decision-making, ensuring Offerings and other FEC components reflect community strengths, needs, and aspirations.

Your Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications include 1 of the following:
    • A Master’s Degree AND five (5) years of professional experience
    • A Bachelor’s Degree AND seven (7) years of professional experience
    • A High School Diploma AND at least eleven (11) years of professional experience
  • Knowledge of, lived experience in, and commitment to the Brooklyn community
  • Outstanding community organizing, collaboration, and advocacy skills.
  • Knowledge of one or more of the FEC frameworks (Equity, Co-design, Appreciative Inquiry, Family Protective Factors) or other frameworks/approaches with similar components.
