Position Title: Machine Moving & Rigging Crew Member Salary: $22-$27

Department: Logistics FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: MMR Manager EEOC: 8. Operatives

Position Summary: Our Machine Moving and Rigging (MMR) team specializes in providing comprehensive logistics solutions to streamline equipment moves for various industries. With a commitment to efficiency and safety, our crew members ensure that machinery and facilities are relocated, crated, skidded, transported, and installed with minimal disruption to operations. Our team prides itself on delivering reliable and timely services, meeting the unique needs of our diverse clientele.

Requirements:

Essential Job Functions:

Equipment Handling:

  • Safely and efficiently handle a wide range of equipment, including manufacturing machinery, injection mold equipment, metalworking tools, semiconductor cleanroom tools, specialized laboratory equipment, optical tables, medical devices, and more.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools and rigging equipment.

Transportation:

  • Safely operate rigging vehicles and demonstrate initiative in task completion. Learn about rigging trucks, tools, and equipment to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Assist in the transportation of equipment to and from client sites, ensuring proper loading, unloading, and securing of items to minimize the risk of damage during transit.

Installation Support:

  • Provide support during the installation process, working closely with our team of technicians to ensure equipment is properly positioned, assembled, and operational according to client specifications.
  • Assist in preparing machinery for relocation by securely packaging and securing it in crates on customer sites.

Safety and Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of equipment and packaging to ensure compliance with safety standards and mitigate potential risks associated with transportation and installation.
  • Safely operate rigging vehicles and demonstrate initiative in task completion.
  • Gain familiarity with MM Solutions’ core values and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for effective communication with team members.

Customer Service:

  • Interact professionally with clients and team members, addressing any concerns or questions promptly and ensuring a positive customer experience throughout the logistics process.
  • Participate in job walks at client sites and assist customer service and sales with price quotes if needed.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of equipment movements, installation activities, and any issues encountered during the process, adhering to company protocols and industry regulations.

Other:

  • Cross train and work in other divisions/departments as needed.
  • Demonstrate and apply our internal and external company values (aka "Anchors") by working positively and collaboratively with team members and customers to form good partnerships and great teams while innovating, eliminating the non-essential and improving.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated commitment to excellent attendance and punctuality, understanding the importance of reliability in meeting project deadlines and maintaining operational efficiency. Ability to be flexible about scope of work and hours as needed.
  • Capability to maintain a clean-cut and professional appearance while working on customer sites.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with clients, team members, and management.
  • Desire to provide excellent customer service, ensuring positive client experiences throughout the logistics process.
  • Intermediate knowledge and proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, and pallet jacks for equipment handling and installation tasks.
  • Aptitude for problem-solving and critical thinking to address challenges encountered during equipment moves and installations.
  • Proficiency in multitasking and self-management to handle various responsibilities simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in coordination and task delegation to facilitate efficient completion of projects.
  • Ability to train on logistics and rigging tasks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma
  • Industry-relevant education, certificate or equivalent preferred.
  • 2-5 years of related experience

Physical Requirements

Standing and Walking: 50%-74%

Seeing: 75%-100%

Hearing: 75%-100%

Ability to lift > 45lbs: 50%-74%

Working Conditions:

  • This team member will experience a fast-paced work environment with a need to be focused and result orientated under the pressure of deadlines. Must successfully pass pre-employment drug test and background check
  • This position must bring a positive attitude, a high level of energy and a professional demeanor on a day-to-day basis.
