Flight Test - Instrumentation Shift Lead in GAC Savannah
Unique Skills:
Flight Test experience preferred. Project management experience preferred.
- Assist Instrumentation Aircraft Coordinator with planning, scheduling and completing tasks on flight test work authorizations in order to meet master schedules. Act on behalf of Instrumentation Aircraft Coordinator in his/her absence and assume the duties and responsibilities of the Instrumentation Aircraft Coordinator when assigned.
- Manage jobs to ensure completion of tasks to meet aircraft schedule and budget. Coordinate with various departments to ensure timely delivery of parts and materials.
- Coordinate with quality department to ensure compliance with FAA regulations and company policies and procedures.
- Assist flight test management with supervision and instruction of instrumentation technicians in proper procedures and techniques of trouble shooting instrumentation and data acquisition systems, repairs and preventive maintenance. Assist with performance appraisals of subordinates. .
- Maintain a current knowledge of the Flight Test Standard Operating Procedure manual, calibration procedures, pre- and post-flight procedures, inspection requirements, vendor information and all other procedures, publications and general knowledge pertaining to aircraft instrumentation systems.
- Apply 5S and Lean Initiatives to maintain good housekeeping and safety in all areas to include hangars, break areas and offices.
- Provides technical assistance in other areas of Flight Test as required. .
- Ensures that flight test work authorizations and instrumentation logs are kept current and accurate. .
- Conduct department safety meetings and demonstrate safe work practice. .
- Ensures and schedules proper technical training of instrumentation technicians within their job scopes. .
- Review daily job charging to ensure accuracy of charges to aircraft. .
- Exchange job related information and coordinate work activities between shifts through turn over reports, meetings and direct contact with aircraft coordinators, instrumentation engineers, flight test engineers, and management. .
