Inside Sales Representative

Role Objective
The Inside Sales Representative drives pipeline development and revenue growth by generating qualified sales opportunities through proactive prospecting, lead management, and territory engagement.
This role serves as a key link between Marketing, Field Sales, and Customers to ensure timely lead follow-up, strong territory coverage, and consistent opportunity creation. The primary focus is creating new sales opportunities and strengthening the sales pipeline for regional sales teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Management & Opportunity Development
- Manage inbound leads from trade shows, marketing campaigns, website inquiries, and eServices platforms.
- Research and qualify leads to identify decision-makers, purchasing needs, and sales potential.
- Conduct proactive outreach through outbound calling, email, and digital engagement.
- Convert qualified leads into sales opportunities and assign them to appropriate regional sales representatives when needed.
- Maintain consistent follow-up to advance opportunities through early sales stages.
Outbound Prospecting & Territory Development
- Conduct proactive prospecting within assigned territories to identify new business opportunities.
- Re-engage inactive or underdeveloped accounts to uncover new sales opportunities.
- Support territory expansion by identifying new potential customers and distributor relationships.
- Schedule customer meetings or product discussions for regional sales representatives when appropriate.
Pipeline Development & Sales Process Support
- Create and maintain opportunities within CRM following established sales process stages.
- Ensure timely progression of opportunities through early pipeline stages.
- Support sales teams with lead research and pre-qualification activities.
- Provide visibility into new opportunities created through inside sales outreach.
CRM Data Quality & Activity Tracking
- Document customer interactions, outreach activity, and opportunity updates within CRM.
- Maintain accurate account data including contact details, opportunity status, and sales activity records.
- Identify duplicate or outdated account records and coordinate updates with Sales Operations when needed.
Customer Engagement & Account Support
- Support externally managed accounts by maintaining proactive customer communication and engagement.
- Communicate product updates, promotions, and new releases to customers.
- Assist field sales representatives with follow-up communication and customer coordination.
Campaign & Marketing Support
- Partner with Marketing to execute targeted outbound campaigns to priority accounts or territories.
- Follow up on campaign engagement to convert interest into qualified sales opportunities.
- Promote adoption of digital ordering platforms and customer self-service tools.
Customer & Technical Support Coordination
- Provide first-level support for customer inquiries related to products, ordering, and account needs.
- Collaborate with Customer Service and Technical teams to resolve customer issues efficiently.
- Promote adoption of digital ordering tools such as eCommerce platforms.
Qualifications & Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in inside sales, sales support, customer service, or business development preferred.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience working with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar).
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable conducting proactive outreach and engaging with customers.
