LEAD CBRF RESIDENT ASSISTANT
Job Summary:
The CBRF Lead Resident Assistant will also support Resident Assistant Training & guidance in all areas of Memory, Behavioral, and general Residents’ care. The CBRF Lead Resident Assistant will also provide support to Residents with activities of daily living, personal hygiene, socialization, enhancement of cognitive and physical health. In this position, you will encourage Resident independence, support in facilitating individual choices while upholding residential dignity and respect through professional conduct and positive interactions.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensures compliance with Resident Rights and HIPAA policies at all times with training for team Resident Assistants
- Effective support/training for staff Caregivers as well as performance in providing Residents with assistance for personal needs according to the support/care plan which may include toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, transfers, and dining
- Support team Resident Assistants with training in all areas of Behavioral, Memory, and general Resident care
- Must have flexibility with extended shifts
- Practices patience, compassion, and empathy in all interactions with the Residents. Focuses on Resident’s abilities and provides social/emotional supports and encourages the Resident to be as independent as possible
- Promotes & training for improved quality of life for residents through person centered care and daily interactions which includes prompt response to calls for assistance, sensitivity to Resident needs for socialization and for privacy, providing direct assistance to participate in activities
- Utilizes standard precautions and follows infection control procedures
- Observes and informs supervisor immediately of any changes in the Resident’s health/condition, change of condition, or any needs
- Reports immediately any unusual events such as abuse/neglect, and emergency situations
- Completes Resident’s laundry as needed and according to policy
- Cleans Resident homes including bathrooms, common areas, along with other housekeeping duties
- Reports maintenance needs promptly to include taking all appropriate safety precautions to minimize risk of injury to resident, self, and other staff
- Practices proper body mechanics and safe handling techniques
- Adheres to all policies and procedures with experience in training team members
- Maintains professional approach to responsibilities such as training, uniform policy, start times, absenteeism, confidentiality, communication with residents, family members, other staff members, vendors, and daily work responsibilities
- Train and monitor and document temperatures, appetite, intake and output as assigned. Weigh Residents and record outcomes
- Able to use transfer equipment for both Resident safety as well as your own: sit to stand lifts, mechanical lifts, and in bed transfers, gait belts, and bath lifts if applicable. Experience & training abilities for team Resident Assistants.
- Review daily report on assigned Resident’s for their condition and required cares
- Completes a walk through to ensure job completion with relief staff
- Must be able to assist with the evacuation of Residents in the event of an emergency
- May perform other duties as assigned by other Leadership
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Use time effectively to accomplish assigned cares for a group of Residents
- Must have Training work experience in all areas of Residents care for team members
- Demonstrates teamwork by communicating with Leadership and Resident Assistants to actively work to resolve problems and lend guidance and assistance
- Must be able to function independently, have personal integrity, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively with residents, employees, visitors, and family members
- Must be able to relate and work with the disabled, ill, elderly and emotionally upset residents
- Must be able to pass criminal background check
- Must have your own viable transportation with expectation of moving from location to location
- Must have valid Driver’s License
Education and Experience:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- CBRF or CNA active license (required)
- Must have 3 years work experience as a Resident Assistant with 1 year work experience as a Lead or Trainer

Personal Protective Equipment Utilized:
- Gloves along with other PPE devices (gowns, masks/eye protection) may be used and are available should the need arise
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to move frequently throughout the workday
- Stand/walk up to 8-12 hours per day
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds
- Frequently kneels, bends, squats, climbs, and reaches
- Experience with Training & mentoring of Resident Assistants team members
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
