Overview:
Intermountain Home Services is seeking a Corporate Controller to oversee critical financial aspects of the company’s accounting, financial reporting, and compliance functions. This high-impact leadership role is responsible for maintaining sound financial systems, ensuring accurate reporting, and guiding the organization through audits, budgeting, and process improvements.
As a key member of the financial leadership team, you’ll support important decision-making with clear financial data and analysis while developing a strong accounting department that upholds our core values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including A/R, A/P, general ledger, bank reconciliations and consolidate reporting
- Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IHS financial goals and metrics
- Review and update budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning across departments
- Prepare internal financial dashboards, metrics, KPIs, and executive/board reporting packages
- Manage external audits and coordinate with external advisors
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax and regulatory requirements
- Implement and improve internal controls, systems, and reporting procedures
- Lead, coach, and support the accounting team; establish clear roles and accountability
- Provide financial insight to support operational decisions and strategic planning
- Serve as the key liaison between finance and other departments including branch operations, general managers, operations, and human capital
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related area (CPA strongly preferred). Masters degree is desired
- 10+ years of accounting experience, with 3+ years in a controller or senior financial leadership role
- Strong knowledge of company financials and experience managing audits
- Experience in large, multi-division organizations required
- Leadership experience with change management, especially as it pertains to the implementation of new systems and processes
- Experience with audits, internal controls, and process improvement
- Proficiency in financial software (Sage, ERP systems, etc.) and Excel modeling
- Proven leadership and team development skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
