Corporate Controller at Intermountain Home Services LLC – Sandy, Utah

Position Mission:

To lead accounting and financial operations with integrity, accuracy, and strategic insight while ensuring that IHS’s financial foundation supports sustainable growth, operational excellence, and compliance.

Overview:

Intermountain Home Services is seeking a Corporate Controller to oversee critical financial aspects of the company’s accounting, financial reporting, and compliance functions. This high-impact leadership role is responsible for maintaining sound financial systems, ensuring accurate reporting, and guiding the organization through audits, budgeting, and process improvements.

As a key member of the financial leadership team, you’ll support important decision-making with clear financial data and analysis while developing a strong accounting department that upholds our core values.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including A/R, A/P, general ledger, bank reconciliations and consolidate reporting
• Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IHS financial goals and metrics
• Review and update budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning across departments
• Prepare internal financial dashboards, metrics, KPIs, and executive/board reporting packages
• Manage external audits and coordinate with external advisors
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax and regulatory requirements
• Implement and improve internal controls, systems, and reporting procedures
• Lead, coach, and support the accounting team; establish clear roles and accountability
• Provide financial insight to support operational decisions and strategic planning
• Serve as the key liaison between finance and other departments including branch operations, general managers, operations, and human capital

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related area (CPA strongly preferred). Masters degree is desired
• 10+ years of accounting experience, with 3+ years in a controller or senior financial leadership role
• Strong knowledge of company financials and experience managing audits
• Experience in large, multi-division organizations required
• Leadership experience with change management, especially as it pertains to the implementation of new systems and processes
• Experience with audits, internal controls, and process improvement
• Proficiency in financial software (Sage, ERP systems, etc.) and Excel modeling
• Proven leadership and team development skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication
