General Description:

The GIS Technician is tasked with supporting spatial data analysis, mapping, and database management to contribute to the success of various projects. This role involves maintaining and updating geospatial datasets, performing spatial analysis to inform decision-making, and collaborating with teams to develop accurate maps and reports. The technician also ensures data integrity, assists with troubleshooting GIS-related issues, and supports the integration of GIS data into various applications. Additionally, they may be responsible for conducting field data collection and contributing to workflow improvements to enhance efficiency in geospatial processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in creating, maintaining, and updating GIS datasets and geodatabases.
  • Perform data entry and cartographic production using GIS software.
  • Collect, process, and integrate spatial data from a variety of sources, including GPS and satellite imagery.
  • Generate accurate maps, charts, and other visual representations of spatial data.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve GIS-related technical issues.
  • Ensure data quality and accuracy through proper validation and documentation procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members to support ongoing projects and provide GIS expertise.
  • Maintain knowledge of GIS trends, tools, and best practices.

Qualifications Guidelines:

  • 0-2 years experience in GIS
  • Degree or Certificate in GIS, Geography, Cartography or GIS experience
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English required

Compensation
Actual compensation within the pay range listed below will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location. Base salary is localized according to employee work location.

$48,000 - $58,000 USD
