About This Position
As the General Supervisor - Sub-Assembly Line (Feeders), you will be responsible for leading and coordinating production processes throughout the manufacturing facility. You will oversee the Sub-Assembly Lines, which include Cutting/Kitting, Walls/Ceiling lines, Plumbing Walls, and Shower Pod Assembly. This role is crucial in ensuring that the Forsell line (Main Assembly Line) is supplied with the necessary materials for the timely assembly of our chassis.
You will report directly to the Director of Manufacturing and serve as a primary leadership point for day-to-day sub-assembly line operations.
Key Responsibilities
Production Leadership
- Lead all activities across the Sub-Assembly Lines
- Ensure that supervisors keep the traveler fully updated after any modifications (MOD) are completed.
- Use dashboards to track the completion percentage of the traveler and monitor the earned value (EV) collected.
- Make certain that all sub-assemblies comply with our quality standards and are free of defects.
- Partner with Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality teams to resolve production challenges and refine workflows
- Participate in process standardization and documentation efforts
Continuous Improvement
- Apply lean principles to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Continuously implement improvements on the assembly lines
- Maintain a high standard of 6S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safety).
Safety & Team Leadership
- Enforce safety protocols by consistently wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Demonstrate leadership by exemplifying servant leadership principles.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to supervisors.
- Ensure that team members are held accountable for their actions.
- Uphold a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
Administrative Duties:
- Ensure you and your supervisors have timecards approved on time for payroll
- Manage labor costs. Request and/or approve overtime as needed
- Ensure you are properly planning out work for the day/week/weekend
- Timely response to all emails
Inventory Management and Accuracy
- Maintain healthy kanban buffers levels of all materials needed for the Forsell Line
- Ensure you have the necessary supplies needed to build at your point of use
- Maintain accurate counts of all tooling for your teams
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in construction, operations, or manufacturing is required; experience in modular construction is a plus.
- Strong communication skills are essential.
- The individual must demonstrate exceptional organizational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with other teams is required.
- Proven experience in supervisory or team leadership roles is mandatory.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
