Position Summary

Superior Rigging and Erecting is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead structural steel and erection projects from award through final closeout. This role carries full responsibility for safety performance, schedule execution, quality control, and financial results, including profit and loss accountability. The Project Manager serves as the primary liaison between the client and internal teams, partnering closely with Operations, Superintendents, Foremen, Estimating, and Accounting to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and profitably.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership and Execution

  • Manage steel erection projects from contract award through closeout
  • Develop comprehensive project execution plans, including manpower planning, sequencing, and resource allocation
  • Coordinate with Sales and Estimating to ensure scope alignment and smooth project transitions
  • Lead internal kickoff meetings and establish clear performance expectations for field teams
  • Monitor project progress and proactively resolve operational challenges

Client and Contract Management

  • Serve as the primary client point of contact throughout the lifecycle of the project
  • Manage contractual obligations, documentation, and communication
  • Administer change orders, scope revisions, and claims in accordance with contract terms
  • Support relationship development to drive repeat business and client retention

Financial Management and Controls

  • Maintain full profit and loss accountability for assigned projects
  • Develop and manage project budgets, cost-to-complete forecasts, and monthly financial reporting
  • Monitor labor productivity, equipment utilization, and subcontractor performance
  • Oversee billing, cash flow, and financial reconciliation through project closeout

Safety and Compliance

  • Ensure strict compliance with company safety standards and regulatory requirements
  • Partner with Safety and field leadership to prevent incidents and reinforce safe work practices
  • Verify that all contractual and quality requirements are met throughout execution
  • Oversee final documentation and closeout deliverables

Performance Expectations

  • Strong safety performance and proactive risk mitigation
  • Consistent delivery on schedule and within budget
  • Accurate financial forecasting and disciplined cost management
  • Effective coordination with field leadership and internal departments
  • High client satisfaction and measurable support of repeat business growth
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Proven experience managing structural steel or construction projects from start to finish
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple projects with full profit and loss responsibility
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, change management, and financial controls
  • Ability to lead field teams and operate effectively in active jobsite environments
  • Strong planning, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to support projects in the Atlanta and Orlando markets as business needs require
  • Ability to work in an in-person, field-supported environment
  • Must pass pre-employment background screening and drug testing
