Job Overview

Central Oregon IPA (COIPA) is seeking a detail-oriented PT Billing Specialist II to support billing operations across multiple clinics. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate billing, compliance, and strong relationships with clinics and payers.

This is a part-time, hybrid position requiring both remote and onsite work at our Bend office.

What You’ll Do Billing Operations

  • Process, code, and submit claims using EDI systems
  • Prepare invoices and maintain billing records
  • Perform insurance verifications and pre-authorizations
  • Conduct audits and coding reviews for accuracy and compliance
  • Communicate with insurance companies to resolve discrepancies
  • Collaborate with providers on coding and documentation questions

Accounts Receivable & Collections

  • Manage insurance payments (EOBs and electronic postings)
  • Follow up on denied claims and resubmit as needed
  • Document denials, write-offs, and adjustments
  • Reconcile payments, charges, and accounts
  • Support clinics in optimizing revenue cycle processes

Program & Clinic Support

  • Assist with onboarding new clinics and developing workflows
  • Serve as a point of contact for billing system issues
  • Help develop policies and procedures for billing operations
  • Provide training and support to clinic staff
  • Build relationships with insurance representatives

Requirements:

What We’re Looking For Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of medical billing experience
  • Experience with billing software (Epic and/or Next Tech preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of billing, coding, and compliance standards
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience
  • CPC certification

Work Environment

  • Hybrid schedule: onsite 3–4 days per week
  • Combination of desk work, computer use, and occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs)
