LOCATION: Eglin AFB, FL – On Site
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Essential job functions include the supervision of a work unit; design, installation, operation, maintenance, and evaluation of equipment composing a complex instrumentation system; and may be required to design system components and make major design modifications for the field installations. Provide insight of current and future systems as necessary.
GENERAL DUTIES:
- This Field Engineer V Electronic Technician position is in support of the Eglin Range Communications Fixed and associated communication systems.
- The Field Engineer V will work closely with supervisor, other Field Engineers, Range Engineers, and technicians.
- They will be given instructions, either written or verbally, to design and prepare various hardware and modifications in regard to current Voice Over IP systems or other communication systems.
- Field Engineer will exercise independent judgment in resolving maintenance and operational problems in connection with components involving equipment and/or wiring installation.
- The Field Engineer will be required to document changes and update systems as directed. Field Engineer V will be required to train other technicians on systems and or modifications.
- Work requires an extensive knowledge of IP Network, Voice over IP systems, Analog Voice, Digital Video devices as they relate to the ERIGE Network.
- Requires knowledge of installation practices for temporary and long term use.
Job Requirements:
OTHER DUTIES: May provide guidance for technicians in activities associated with aircraft modifications. May be required to perform housekeeping duties to assigned work areas.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Basic Electronics and 7 years related experience with Networking environments with analog and digital VOiP integration experience.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Secret security clearance. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Required to use and wear appropriate safety equipment. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement. Overtime will be required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work assignments can be both indoor and outdoor under various environmental conditions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Required to bend, walk, stand, and lift, pull, or carry items of weight and size commensurate with job requirements.
