This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer - Control Plane in Netherlands.
You will join a highly skilled infrastructure engineering team responsible for building and operating the foundational layer of a global cloud platform. This role focuses on designing and maintaining scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure that powers a managed Cloud Console experience for customers worldwide. You will work across compute, storage, networking, and security domains, contributing to a multi-region architecture built for performance and resilience. Operating in a fast-paced, cloud-native environment, you will collaborate with cross-functional engineering and security teams to ensure robust platform integration and reliability. This is a hands-on role where you will influence platform architecture, automation practices, and operational excellence. You will also contribute to improving developer experience and observability across the infrastructure stack.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, highly available, and secure cloud infrastructure across AWS environments
- Develop and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation
- Work with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, to support cloud-native workloads
- Implement strategies for load balancing, auto-scaling, disaster recovery, and system resilience across multi-region environments
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and security teams to ensure seamless integration, scalability, and compliance of cloud systems
- Enhance developer experience by improving tooling, automation, and deployment workflows
- Build and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure platform observability and reliability
- Partner with security teams to implement IAM, encryption, network security, and compliance best practices
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, system issues, and bugs in production environments
- Contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements and operational automation initiatives
- 6+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering or platform engineering roles
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services such as EKS, SQS, DocumentDB, Redis, PostgreSQL, and Lambda
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes, containerized environments, and cloud-native architectures
- Strong knowledge of networking, distributed systems, and cloud security principles
- Experience building and operating large-scale APIs and distributed systems
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, AWS CDK, or similar
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to performance, scalability, and reliability
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional, fast-paced engineering environments
- Nice to have: experience with Node.js, React, or data-intensive/analytics platforms such as ClickHouse
