Accountabilities:

  • Translate client goals into technical solutions, ensuring high-quality execution of audio, video, lighting, rigging, and power distribution systems.
  • Oversee onsite operations including load-in, setup, live execution, troubleshooting, and strike of all technical elements.
  • Manage and supervise technical crews, vendors, labor teams, and subcontractors while ensuring budget alignment and schedule adherence.
  • Collaborate closely with producers and stakeholders to align technical execution with creative vision and event objectives.
  • Maintain documentation, improve internal technical standards, and contribute to continuous process and workflow optimization.
  • Manage vendor relationships and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance future production capabilities.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience as a Technical Director in client-facing live event production roles.
  • Proven leadership experience managing large technical teams, vendors, and cross-functional production crews.
  • Strong expertise in budget management, labor coordination, and vendor negotiation.
  • Deep technical knowledge of live event systems including audio, video, lighting, rigging, and power distribution.
  • Ability to travel up to 40 percent, including internationally, with a valid US passport.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong interpersonal and client-facing abilities.
  • Proficiency in Vectorworks required; AutoCAD familiarity considered a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in scheduling, documentation, and onsite execution.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments while managing multiple priorities.
Benefits:
  • Full-time employment opportunity
  • Salary range between 130,000 and 145,000, based on experience and qualifications
  • Health and dental insurance with multiple plan options
  • 100 percent employer-paid short-term disability and life insurance
  • Optional additional life and long-term disability insurance at employee expense
  • Paid parental leave
