Job Description
The Performance Den is the sole strength and conditioning provider for Off Ice Training for the Colorado Thunderbirds AAA Hockey Club, as well as multiple High School and Middle School programs. The Performance Den is also the official strength and conditioning provider for TPH Academy Denver, a leading sports academy in the Denver metro area that focuses on the holistic development of student-athletes.
Are you a college junior or senior majoring in Exercise Science or a related field looking to complete an internship for academic credit? The Performance Den, a Denver based Strength and Conditioning facility located in Big Bear Ice Arena is offering a College Internship Program starting in Spring 2025. This is a semester-long unpaid program for academic credit that provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience before graduation, working with Coach Bond. We will work with your college to fulfill any minimum requirements for academic credit and provide documentation that may be needed.
After spending the last 12 years as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Colorado Avalanche, Coach Bond is now directing The Performance Den. Coach Bond has over 25 years in the field, including Collegiate athletics, the private sector, and the NHL. Coach Bond’s career highlights include the following:
2022 Stanley Cup Champion
2021 NHL Presidents Trophy
2015 National Strength and Conditioning Association Professional Coach of the year
2005 Big Sky Conference Football Champions
The internship program will include:
- Daily education in Sports Performance
- Hands on coaching with Coach Bond and on your own
- Weekly education meetings with Coach Bond
- Education using Hawkins Dynamics Force Plates
- Daily operations of a fast-growing Sports Performance Facility
- Create your own research project
