Summary: Are you a detail-oriented accountant with a knack for navigating data systems and ensuring accuracy? HumanKind is seeking a Tech Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team. This critical role ensures the smooth operation of billing, collections, and credit card management, with a primary focus on supporting the Sponsored Homes Program. If you’re organized, proficient with accounting software, and enjoy collaborating across departments, this opportunity is for you. With a hybrid work environment (two days onsite per week), you’ll play a key role in maintaining the financial health of our programs while enjoying flexibility and a supportive team culture.

Success In This Role Looks Like:

  • Maintaining accurate records and managing the full accounts receivable cycle for the Sponsored Homes Program, including Medicaid billing and overdue account follow-ups.
  • Utilizing data management practices to ensure compliance and service authorization accuracy.
  • Serving as the organization’s primary resource for medical billing platforms, troubleshooting issues and maintaining system expertise.
  • Executing monthly reconciliations between medical billing and accounting systems to ensure data integrity.
  • Managing and reconciling the corporate credit card cycle, including coding, payments, and statement reviews.
  • Collaborating with the Sponsored Homes and Accounting teams to implement process improvements and support financial audits.

What You Bring To The Team:

  • At least 2 years of experience in accounting processes, including general ledger maintenance and account reconciliations.
  • Proficiency with data analysis and quality assurance, alongside technical expertise in platforms such as Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Blackbaud Financial Edge is a plus).
  • Strong organizational and critical thinking skills to identify and resolve anomalies effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field. Equivalent relevant experience will be considered in place of a degree.
