About This Position
About the Role:
As a Hostess at Santa Clara Resort LLC, you will be the welcoming face and first point of contact for all guests entering our dining and event spaces. Your primary goal is to create a warm, inviting atmosphere that sets the tone for an exceptional guest experience. You will manage reservations, greet and seat guests efficiently, and coordinate with the service team to ensure smooth operations. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills to handle guest inquiries and resolve any seating or service issues promptly and professionally. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute significantly to guest satisfaction and the overall reputation of Santa Clara Resort.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in hospitality or food service.
- Basic computer skills to manage reservation and seating software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a resort or upscale dining environment.
- Familiarity with reservation management systems such as OpenTable or similar platforms.
- Multilingual abilities to assist a diverse guest population.
- Training or certification in customer service or hospitality.
- Knowledge of local attractions and resort amenities to provide guests with helpful recommendations.
Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide prompt seating according to reservation and walk-in status.
- Manage reservation systems and maintain an organized waitlist during peak hours.
- Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure seamless guest service.
- Answer guest questions regarding menu items, seating arrangements, and resort amenities.
- Handle guest concerns or complaints with professionalism and escalate issues when necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host/hostess station and entrance area.
- Assist in coordinating special events and large group seating arrangements as needed.
Skills:
