Job Overview:

A rehabilitation therapist is a healthcare professional that provides care to patients with injuries, illnesses, or disabilities to regain function, independence and quality of life. There are various disciplines within the rehab scope that an individual can specialize in including Physical, Occupational, Speech, and Audio Therapy.

As a Rehab Therapist a typical day might include:

• Evaluating patient’s need and plan of care
• Creating that plan of care including the use of exercises, equipment, counseling, and training
• Implementing therapeutic practices to improve physical movements, speech, swallowing, or counseling.

This role might be for you if:

• You are passionate about the respiratory care experience for patients in this space
• You keep yourself current in the respiratory field by reading journals, attending lectures and participating in relevant organizations
• You believe that true healing is optimized through kindness and empathy
• You set a high bar for yourself and others to maintain a safe, welcoming, and therapeutic environment for your patients and their families
• You recognize and respect the impact that you have on your patients’ healthcare journey and how their families engage in their treatment plan

Qualifications:

Required:

• Graduate of accredited program in specific discipline at the baccalaureate or post baccalaureate level required

• New Jersey board license and registration required

• Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association required
