About This Position
Description:
- Provide individualized assessment, therapeutic programs, and services by facilitating the admissions procedures. Welcomes new admissions, provides orientation, information on Resident Council, calendar, and upcoming events.
- Assists residents in maintaining contact and interaction with the community, previous life patterns, and routines.
- Provide ongoing person-centered programs that incorporate the resident's interests, hobbies, and cultural preferences to maintain and/or improve the resident's physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being and independence through the development of an Activity Plan of Care individualized to reflect each resident's personal needs, complete with goals and interventions.
- Create opportunities for each resident to have a meaningful life by supporting their domains of wellness including security, autonomy, growth, connectedness, identity, joy, and meaning.
- Develops a calendar of activities that is structured and meets the standard of organization, follows state regulations, and has variety for assigned unit.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary staff to plan content and Special Events programming. Creates an atmosphere of excitement and anticipation as well as promoting interest and participation with residents and family members.
- Work collaboratively with residents, families, and other interdisciplinary staff for problem identification, resolution, and intervention.
- Provide 1:1 interventions and support for residents who are unable or unwilling to participate in group activities/presentations. Inform, invites, and escorts residents as necessary to groups.
- Maintain communications with residents and families using bulletin boards, display cases, and other appropriate electronic/video means.
- Work proactively with the entire Life Enrichment team to ensure the successful execution of the department's goals, objectives, and Activities Calendar through any and all methods utilized by the department and at the direction of the Lead and Department Head.
- Ensure day-to-day workload completion is appropriately prioritized.
- Supervises volunteers and entertainers as needed.
- Records resident's attendance and charts appropriately.
- Attend Care Plan conferences as assigned.
- Complete Quarterly, Annual and significant Change Reassessments 5-, 14-, 30-, and 60-day care plans in a timely manner.
- Ensures all preparations are complete for activities to ensure all groups start according to the posted schedule.
- Assists resident with ADLs on an as needed basis while on outings and trips.
- Associate Degree in Recreational Therapy or related field
- Minimum of 6 months of relevant experience preferably in Senior Living or similar setting
- Must have a Driver's License and maintain license in good standing throughout the duration of employment. Driving records will be audited annually.
